Taco Box Chichester

Project 2

Taco Box Chichester

For Taco Box, a newly opened restaurant, I was commissioned to create a large-scale mural that would provide a practical directional solution. The restaurant entrance was positioned around a corner and not immediately visible from the road, so the brief focused on using the mural to guide customers towards the door while reinforcing the brand identity.

Drawing inspiration from the Taco Box logo, I developed a composition built around bold directional arrows. By incorporating the shapes and bold colours already present, the arrows became a natural extension of the logo, creating a strong visual pathway that led visitors towards the entrance. I also introduced graphic illustrations of cacti throughout the design; as an iconic plant associated with Mexico, the cacti helped communicate the restaurant's food inspiration while adding character. The finished mural successfully balances function and aesthetics, acting as both a piece of public artwork and an effective signage solution.

Alongside the mural, I was also commissioned to design a limited-edition beer can to celebrate the restaurant's opening. The can artwork drew on visual elements from the mural - such as the cacti - but allowed for a more intricate design. More of this type of work can be seen under the 'Illustration' section.
